군위 지보사 삼층석탑(보물 제682호), 경상북도 군위군 군위읍 상곡리 지보사 삼층석탑 持寶寺 三層石塔 보물 제682호 소재지 : 경상북도 군위군 군위읍 상곡리 이 탑은 상륜부만 없을 뿐 거의 완전한 3층석탑이다. 통일신라 하대부터 나타나던 장식성이 풍부한 석탑계 열을 충실히 계승한 이 석탑은 아담하면서도 화려한 면모를 잘 나타내고 있다. 즉 지대석 위에 놓인 2층기단은 신라하대의 전형적인 구성수법을 보여주고 있는데, 하층기단 면석에는 탱주라는 받침 기둥을 하나 세웠고 이 사이 면석에는 사자 같은 동물상을 묘사했으며, 상층기단 역시 탱주 하나와 각면석에 팔부중을 새겼다. 이런 특징은 신라말 내지 고려 초의 장식적인 석탑 기단부와 흡사한 것인데, 이 점은 탑신부에도 그대로 나타나고 있다. 즉 1층 탑신받침이 연화문을 새긴 별도의 판석인 점과 1층옥신에 감실을 새긴 것, 그리고 옥개받침이 모두 4단인 점등 여러가지 특징이 고려초의 석탑양식을 나타내고 있는 것이다. 따라서 '화려하면서도 단정한 고려초 석탑양식을 잘 보여주는 당시의 뛰어난 작품이라 하겠다. THREE-STORY STONE PAGODA OF CHIBO SA Treasure No.682 Though missing its top, this three-story stone pagoda of Chibosa(Temple) has been preserbed almost intact. The pagoda well reflects a highly decorative style unique to the latter Unified Shilla (668-935) and carly Koryo(918-1392) periods. In particular, the tow-tiered base on a stone platform is characteristic of structural styles of shilla. A stone prop stands on the lower base, with images of lion-like animals carved between the props. The upper base also has a prop carved with eight deity guardians. A separate stone plate with a lotus pattern forms the stand of the first-story of the main part, and a miniature temple is inscribed on the first-story roof which is supported by a four-tiered plate.
