요선정과 요선암 돌개구멍, 강원도 영월군 무릉도원면 무릉리 나그네의 강원 구석구석 여행 사진 제공 / 박정웅 1. 요선정 강원도 문화재자료 제41호 소재지 : 강원도 영월군 무릉도원면 무릉리 이 정자는 무릉도원면(구:수주면) 무릉리에 거주하는 요선계 계원들이 중심이 되어 1915년에 건립하였다. 남한강의 지류 주천강 상류인 이 곳은 풍경이 아름다울 뿐만 아니라 조선 왕조의 19대 임금인 숙종대왕의 어제시를 봉안하고 있어 역사적으로 의미가 깊은 곳이다. 어제시는 숙종이 직접 하사하여 주천면 소재지에서 동쪽에서 서쪽으로 흐르는 주천강 북쪽 언덕에 위치하였던 청허루에 봉안하였으나, 오랜 세월이 지나는 동안 청허루가 붕괴되었고, 숙종의 어제시 현판은 일본인 주천면 경찰지소장이 소유하고 있었다. 요선계 회원들은 일본인이 숙종대왕의 어제시 현판을 소유하였다는 것에 대해 거부감을 느끼고 많은 대금을 지불하고 매입하였고, 이를 봉안하기 위하여 요선정을 건립하였다. 이 정자는 정면 2칸, 측면 2칸의 팔작 지붕으로 건축한 작은 정자이나, 숙종대왕이 하사한 어제시 현판을 봉안하기 위하여 무릉도원면의 원씨, 이씨, 곽씨의 삼성이 조직한 요선계원들의 역사의식과 정성이 담겨 있어 역사적 의미가 매우 크다. Yoseonjeong Gangwon-do Cultural property Material No.41 The members of the Fraternity Yoseongye living at Mureung-ri, Mureungdowon-myeon, built this pavilion in 1915. This beautiful site is at the upper reaches of Jucheongang River, a tributary to the Namhangang River. It is a historical site because a poem composed by King Sukjong, the 19th King of the Joseon Dynasty, is enshrined here. The Royal poem was donated by King Sukjong, and it was enshrined at the cheongheoru Pavilion situated on a hillock north of the Jucheongang River. Cheongheoru Pavilion later collapsed, and a Japanese branch office head confiscated the hanging board of the Royal poem. The members of the Yoseongye Fraternity were unhappy with the fact that a japanese officer owned it, so they bought it back for a considerable some, and they built the Yoseonjeong Pavilion to enchrine it. Yoseonjeong Pavilion is a small pavilion with a 2 room front and a 2 room flank. It has a paljak style roof, and it contains the historial consciousness and the sincerity of the members of the Yoseongye Fraternity. The Fraternity was made up of people of three familynames.
