2. Bongjeong-sa This temple is located on the southern foot of Cheondeung Mountain. In 672, the twelfth year under the reign of silla King Munmuwang, a saint Eusangdaesa flew a paper cranie from Buseok sa and it landed here, so this temple was constructed at this location. According to the memorial writing for the construction found in Geungnakjeon, Neingindaedeok, one of the Eusangdaesa's students, built this temple and it had been renovated many times until the Joseon Dynasty. There are 10 buildings in the main temple. There are two small annexed temples to the east and west with 9 buildings total. The area is about 500 pyeong (1,650 m) and this is the biggest old temple in the Andong area. The oldest wooden building in Korea is Geungnakjeon National Treasure No.15). The verification for the wooden structure came from a written memorial record found in 1972 when there was a project to dismantle and renovate these structures. The writing said that it was renovated in 1363, the twelfth year of Goryeo King Gongminwang. The Daeungjeon was built during the Joseon Dynasty national treasure 311 In addition, the Whaeom Hall (Treasure No.448), the Gogeumdang (Treasure NO.449), and others were found in this lot. The wooden buildings built in the Goryeo Dynasty and the Joseon Dynasty exist together so they offer valuable insights to the study of Korean architecture. In addition to those buildings, there are three-story stone pagoda built in the Goryeo Dynasty, the Manseru, Yosache and on her buildings in this lot. The annexed temples are the Yeongsanam and Jijoam. 3. Gyeongsangbuk-do Tangible Cultural Heritage No.44 Taejang-ri, Seohu-myeon, Andong bihaedang16.blogspot.com | 이 불상은 안동군 월곡면 미질동에서 발굴된 것으로 그 곳에 있던 안정사에 보관되어 있었다. This Buddha statue is presumed to have been made in the 9th century. The statue had been kept in Anjeongsa Temple since the early 20th century when it was discovered nearby. However, when Anjeongsa Temple was shut down due to the construction of Andong Dam, the statue was moved to Bongjeongsa Temple in 1973. The stone statue was originally made with a lotus pedestal and a halo of light, but they are missing now. The surface of the statue is also slightly damaged from having been painted with golden powder. The Buddha sits with his legs crossed. He has curly hair and a large protuberance on the top of the head. His right hand reaches down toward the ground and his left hand rests on his lap, indicating his defeat of worldly desires and attainment of spiritual enlightenment. 4. Gyeongsangbuk-do Tangible Cultural Heritage No. 182 Taejang-ri, Seohu-myeon, Andong This three-story stone pagoda is believed to have been made during the Goryeo period (918-1392). This pagoda is composed of one base tier, three sets of body and roof stones, and a decorative top. The base tier and the top are partially damaged. The corners of the body stones are carved to look like pillars, and the first story body stone is carved with a door and padlock. The roof stones are curved slightly upward. It is presumed that this pagoda was constructed at the same time as Geungnakjeon Hall, in front of which it stands. It demonstrates the typical style of mid-Goryeo period pagodas. The height of this pagoda is 3.18 m. 5.

This pavilion is the main gate of Bongjeongsa Temple. It was first constructed in 1680 and was repaired several times. It is a two-story building when seen from the front, but from the back, it looks like a single-story building with a wide, wooden-floor hall. The name of this pavilion, "Manseru (EB )," literally means "pavilion of ten thousand years." The original name of this pavilion is "Deokhwiru (1 ," which means "pavilion of brilliant light from virtues," Wooden plaques with inscriptions of these names hang inside the pavilion. The instruments in the pavilion, such as a drum, wooden fish, and a cloud-shaped gong, are used for announcing the worship services.

Daeungjeon is a Buddhist worship hall enshrining a statue of the Buddha, Sakyamuni. This hall is also the main hall of Bongjeongsa Temple. The exact construction period of the building is uncertain, but a record of its repair history says it was first repaired in 1435. The building underwent several repairs afterwards and was dismantled to be rebuilt from 1999 to 2001. This single-story wooden building was built on a tall stone foundation. It has a narrow wooden veranda at the front, which is very rare for Buddhist architecture. The ceiling and wooden canopy inside the hall are beautifully decorated with paintings of dragons, Buddhas, and diverse patterns, displaying the characteristic style of Buddhist art created during the Goryeo period (918-1392).

Famous as a filming location for the internationally acclaimed movie Why Has Bodhi-Dharma Left for The East? (1989), Yeongsanam Hermitage consists of a few buildings arranged in a square layout with a garden at the center. The central courtyard containing a rock and a few pine trees creates a comfortable, serene atmosphere, representing the ascetic way of life of the monks who retreat to the hermitage.
